Mr. Arif Sikder, the dynamic Executive Director and Founder of Ambala Foundation and its Secretary General since 1994. With over 30 Years of dedication, he has transformed Ambala Foundation into a beacon of hope for countless individuals, fostering sustainable development and social progress. His innovation, leadership and unparalleled commitment to grassroots engagement has enabled him to eliminate inequality and uplift the underprivileged through entrepreneurship development, employment generation, education, skills development, and inclusive growth.
Through his leadership, Ambala Foundation has become a symbol of unity and collective strength, bridging divides and fostering harmony among diverse groups.
Chief Operating Officer
Md. Enamul Haque is one of the leading NGO Practitioner in Bangladesh. He has 45 years experience on multiplicity responsibility on micro credit and others micro financial services & financial inclusion. He was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the ASA International Group PLC Ltd and worked as international technical service provider for UNDP micro start program (MSP) as a team leader in Nigeria; ASA consultant for Save the Children, Kashf Foundation & Bank of Khyber in Pakistan, MISFA in Afghanistan, SMCP in Eretria, MBK In Indonesia , CARD & Life bank in Philippines, Bandhan in India, Social Development Fund ( SFD) World bank project in Yemen , Plan International, ,CARITAS, CORDAID in Bangladesh and other institutions in Asia and Africa.
Deputy Executive Director
Dewan Taufika Hossain is a one of the dynamic and dedicated leader of Ambala Foundation. She completes her MBA from ASA University of Bangladesh. She works as Deputy Executive Director of Ambala Foundation. She coordinates, monitor and oversee the Human Resource and Audit Department of Ambala Foundation. She is highly organized and efficient in multitasking environment. She has immense knowledge in new idea generation, operation and overall management. She is an effective communicator and motivator who identifies and leverages assets in teammates to reach organizational goals. She also works as Chief Executive Officer of Radio Bikrampur 99.2 FM. She has better theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in action oriented research and participate several international conference and represent our organization on behalf of Ambala Foundation
Head of MFP
Sk. Hasanuzzaman is a seasoned microfinance professional with over 26 years of progressive experience in leading development organizations including Shakti Foundation, SAJIDA Foundation, RDRS Bangladesh, BEES and GUK,. He currently serves as the Head of Microfinance at Ambala Foundation, throughout his career, he has demonstrated excellence in strategic planning, program design, financial management, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and human resource development.
Previously, he worked in microfinance programs for about 25 years in key positions at Shakti Foundation and other organizations.His leadership has been instrumental in policy formulation, delinquency control, and institutional growth, with consistent engagement with regulatory bodies such as MRA, PKSF, and Bangladesh Bank. Hasanuzzaman is known for his hands-on management style and a strong track record of scaling sustainable microfinance operations across both rural and urban Bangladesh.
Deputy Director - MFP
Minhaz Mohsin Mishu is an accomplished microfinance professional with over a decade of experience across Bangladesh and East Africa. He has a proven track record of transforming Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) into Microcredit Deposit-Taking Institutions (MDIs) in East Africa. In addition to his operational expertise, he is a seasoned researcher, having authored notable publications such as *Financial Diaries*, studies on digital financial service penetration in low-income communities, and various market share and impact assessment reports. Driven by a strong commitment to financial inclusion, Minhaz leverages his strategic vision and technical expertise to advance institutional growth and enhance client outcomes.
Assistant Director - Media & Public Affairs
Kazi Faisal Islam is a social development programs’ specialist and having 10 years of professional experience in NGO-MFI, Research, Corporate Business, Monitoring & Evaluation, Data Analysis, Training & Consultation, Communication & Advocacy and Media Engagement. He is a result oriented development and Humanitarian professional; managing and leading a multi-disciplinary team in NGOs and INGOs. He is expert on Market Research, Project Management, Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation, Capacity Development and Community Engagement. He has experience in working with several international research organizations (Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO), Wageningen University & Research (WUG), MDPI, etc) and authored of several international publications “Crossing the Frontiers: Trans disciplinary Research and the Negotiated Approach for Peri-Urban Groundwater Management in the Indo-Gangetic Delta”; “Capacity Building for Water Management in Peri-Urban Communities, Bangladesh: A Simulation-Gaming Approach” etc. He has developed and introduced numbers of ICT tools for social development. He has also engaged in social business programs.
Assistant Director - HR & Admin
Md. Rabby Alam Mondol is professional leader who serving HR, Admin, Legal, Procurement, Training and staff wellbeing since last 15 years or more. During service he served Multinational Company (Banglalink), National lever pioneer manufacturer company (Lina Group), IT company (vertex software Bd. Ltd), Research farm (Insights & Ideas Ltd.). During service he served as one stoop service point of staff and management. By bridging between Management & staff an equal treated and discrimination free working environment has ensured during his period of service of different organization.
Assistant Director- MIS
Mst. Ripa Khatun currently serves as the Assistant Director – MIS at Ambala Foundation, a reputed NGO in Bangladesh.
With over 17 years of extensive experience in the field, Ms. Ripa Khatun has developed strong expertise in Management Information Systems (MIS), data analysis, monitoring & evaluation, and project management. Her role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of MIS frameworks that support informed decision-making and enhance operational efficiency within the organization.
Assistant Director - Accounts
Md. Abdul Alim is a seasoned finance professional with over two decades of experience in financial management and accounting within the development and microfinance sectors. Over 17 years he is working in Ambala Foundation and currently he is the Head of Accounts of Ambala Foundation. He oversees budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and audits, ensuring transparency and accountability in the program’s financial operations.
Md. Abdul Alim completed his BBS degree in Management from Sirajganj Govt. College. His expertise lies in streamlining financial processes, managing donor and institutional reporting, and supporting sustainable financial growth for community-based lending initiatives. His commitment to financial inclusion and empowerment through microfinance plays a crucial role in advancing the organization’s mission to serve underserved communities.
Assistant Director- Audit
Alomgir Hossain Joarder has over twenty-three years of experience in the NGO/MFI sector and specialist of the microfinance. He is currently serving as a chief of the Internal audit department and led the 25 members Internal Audit team in Ambala Foundation.
He has started his carried as an Area Manager in Jagorany chakra Foundation, one of the top 10 MFI in Bangladesh. Alomgir has also worked as a coordinator in various organizations as Srizony Foundation, Center for community Development Assistant, RDRS Bangladesh and Shakti Foundation, He had Immense knowledge and skill on of Microfinance Monitoring & supervision.
He also has special skill on loan & savings products and services design, experience on portfolio quality management, manuals writing related to operational policies, monitoring & supervision, strategic development, exponential growth etc.

Ambala Foundation is a noble initiative initiated by some change seeking young of Bangladesh dedicated to help the impoverished people of Bangladesh. Ambala Foundation was dreamed and established by Mr. Arif Sikder and his friends when they were students of Dhaka University in 1994. He is also working as the current Executive Director.
Ambala Foundation was known as Environment Council Bangladesh before 2016. In a short form it was recognized worldwide as EC Bangladesh. But the organization was renamed as Ambala Foundation from 2016.
